The sun shone for our first game of 2021 and our first match with supporters since March 2020. After returning to training in May the team played their first match of pre-season against the newly formed Tayport FC Amateurs. Right from the off we created many chances and kept the opposition keeper busy all afternoon with him making some really good saves throughout the match. We went in 5 nil up at half time after a first half hat-trick from Dayle Robertson, a Logan Irvine header and a debut goal from Reece Ritchie. In the second half the team continued to create lots of opportunities in front of goal, finding the back of the net nine times in the second 45 minutes. With Robertson scoring another 2, second half substitute Jamie McCabe scoring 5, Jamie Gill converting from the spot and a debut goal from Sam Sanchez. All 17 members of today's match day squad got minutes under their belt in what was a really good first match back in 6 months. Despite the high score our Amateur team can hold their heads high after a number of good performances. We wish everyone at Tayport FC Amateurs all the best for the upcoming season and are delighted that Amateur football is back in Tayport. It was wonderful having our supporters back inside the Canniepairt this afternoon. For us our attention now turns to Tuesday night when we play Newburgh Juniors in our second match of pre-season.
